I Love the Masters!

The Masters golf tournament is by far my most favorite sporting event all year. Granted, I have always loved golf and play as often as time allows, so a golf tournament isn't a stretch for my favorite. But there is something about the time of year and the beauty of the course and the intensity of the competition that is unmatched in my opinion for "sports drama."

I am not sure everyone knows this, but The Masters is somewhat unique in that they purposefully limit the amount of commercials so that they can cram in the most action possible. For years there were only two sponsors, Cadillac and The Travelers. How many sponsors can you name from the last Super Bowl? Right...They just don't sink in when you are constantly bombarded!

The venue, Augusta National, is the finest piece of God's green earth that I have ever seen. I have heard from guys who have been there that you cannot find a single weed across the entire area of the course. In my mind, it must be a little like heaven! I will be cheering on Brandt Snedeker today, as he hails from my alma mater, Vanderbilt. But whoever wins today gets the greatest award in golf from my perspective - a lifetime of playing at Augusta National each year in April.

Go Commodores!
